Thousands Experiencing Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, generating wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Destruction
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Utility workers were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around one thousand households in Victoria also faced power outages after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were without power.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
